Bharmour Valley Camp 2 - The Nomadic Quest | 10 September 2016

The Nomadic Quest invite you and your young adults on a thrilling adventure to Bharmour Valley.


Day 1: Reach Pathankot or Chakki Bank railway station by 13:00hrs. Our vehicle will pick us from here. Drive through the first range of hills called the “Shivalik”, slowly approach the Dhauladhar range which comes under the Himalayan range. Reach Khajjiar Via Dalhousie and Kalatope. In the evening either rest or visit the local market to buy any woolens or necessary items for the journey ahead. Dinner will be served in common dining area of the hotel. Overnight at hotel in Khajjiar.

Day 2:  After breakfast we drive to Bharmour, the former capital of the region which is popular for its natural beauty, for Chaurasi temples and Manimahesh. Chaurasi Temples stand on a level area in center of Bharmour and are named after the 84 Siddhas who are believed to have meditated in here over thousand years ago. Lunch will be served at the hotel & after some rest we walk down to the local market & explore the surroundings, which will also help us get acclimatized to the higher altitude. In the evening an introduction with Instructors & the camping / trekking team will be arranged after which we shall share some tips on “Mountain Manners” & “How to pack your backpack”. Dinner will be served later in the common dining area of the hotel. Overnight at hotel in Bharmour.

Day 3:  After breakfast, we hike up to the Bhramani Mata temple which should take us approx 3 to 4 hrs, later in the evening we board our vehicle & drive up to Kugti which is approx 26kms from Bharmour. On arrival check into the local forest guest house at Kugti, later in the evening we all gather around a small campfire & enjoy some hot soup & dinner. Overnight at forest guest house in Kugti.

Day 4: After breakfast we start our trek to our “Dalotu” campsite (aprrox 3 to 4hrs). Lunch will we served on arrival at camp, later tents will be allotted. In the evening dinner will be served in common dining area of our campsite. Overnight in tents at Dalotu campsite.

Day 5: After breakfast we trek up to the highest point “Harni Top” as it is known locally which is at a short distance from our Dalotu campsite and also explore the area around our trail which is rich in flora and fauna, on reaching the top enjoy the amazing view. Overnight in tents at Dalotu campsite.

Day 6: Today we trek to the famous “Kartik Swami” temple which is the only temple in Himachal dedicate to “Kartik Swami” after visiting the temple, lunch will be arranged close by, later after some rest we cover the short distance of approx 90 minutes to our next campsite at “Duggi”. In the evening tea & snacks will be served in the common area of the campsite followed by dinner later in the evening. Overnight in tents at Duggi.

Day 7: After breakfast we board our vehicle arranged at Duggi & drive to Chamba. Lunch en-route. In the evening check into your hotel at Chamba followed by dinner. Overnight at hotel in Chamba.

Day 8: After breakfast we start our return journey back to Pathankot or Chakki Bank railway station by road to catch your train. On the way see panoramic view of Chamera Dam.


Wear comfortable full cotton casual top and track pants.

Wear good waterproof trekking shoes.

Don’t forget to carry your backpack with:

Sunhat or cap

Dark Sun glasses or UV protected

Sunscreen lotion ( SPF 30+ )

Cold Cream.

Head lamp or Torch ( With Extra Batteries ) ( Compulsory )

Chocolates and dry fruits as pocket snacks.

Water bottle with water ( Participants are advised to drink minimum 3 lts per person, per day )

Mess tin or small steel Tiffin box with spoon & small mug.

Toilet Paper & kit.

Personal Photo Identity ( Compulsory )

Personal Medication ( if any )

Notebook & Pen

Camera with sufficient batteries and film / memory cards ( optional )

Binoculars ( optional )

Personal Clothing.

Heavy Woollen Clothing / socks & gloves.

Wind Stopper or Feather Jacket

Rain Sheet  ( Poncho )

Floaters (  Footwear )

Mosquito Repellent.
