Madame Tussauds museum Delhi is soon to be launched at the iconic REGAL building at Connaught Place by the mid of 2017. With this, Delhi has come up with yet another big deal proving why Connaught Place is a sought-after destination for tourists as well as the Delhiites. The reason to choose the British-designed building of 1932 is its prime location that makes the place tourist-centric.
Known for lifelike wax figures of the celebrities across different fields, Madame Tussauds London had its first Indian celebrity with Amitabh Bachchan’s wax figure in 2000. Later on, many Indian celebrities like Sachin Tendulkar, Aishwarya Rai, Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan and others became a part of this iconic museum and made it appealing to Indian consumers. Hence, it arouses an interest to capture this attraction in the capital of India by launching a branch of this Museum in Delhi revealed by Merlin Entertainment Chief Opening Officer – John Jakobsen. This UK Based enterprise runs 116 attractions across 24 countries.
Covering 2 floors, the museum will have a wax lookalike of Mr. Arvind Kejriwal – Chief Minister of Delhi. Their Indian partner – Wizcraft Entertainment International has requested a consent for his wax figure and obtained the approval in early January 2016.
With its presence across 4 continents – Asia, America, Australia and Europe with its wax replicas at museums located at London, Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong etc., company shall be foraying in India with the launch of Madame Tussauds Delhi. Prime Minister Narender Modi is soon expected to join the league. Earlier this year, Shri Modi has already given experts a sitting at his residence in New Delhi as revealed by the sources.
